Retime ML
Description
A machine learning motion estimation and retiming model that produces smooth motion. Expands or contracts the timing of a selected range of frames.
Node Group
AI/ML, Time.
Controls
Import Curve
Imports a retime curve. Supported formats include Avid AAF, Nuke, and Simple. The Simple format imports a generic text file containing source and target frame data. When importing a Nuke curve, a dialog prompts you to specify whether the curve is based on Speed or Frames.
Export Curve
Exports the current retime curve, including source and target frame data.
Data Port
Connect the Roto and Retime ML data ports to retime Roto keyframes. When Channels is set to RGBA or Alpha, the Roto output is evaluated at the retimed target time and its alpha is written directly to the final alpha channel. This preserves pristine Roto quality by retiming only the keyframes rather than retiming the rendered Roto result.
Model
Choose which ML model to use.
Channels
Calculates RGB, RGBA, or Alpha channels. Selecting RGBA requires two passes, so retiming will take approximately twice as long.
Method
Speed %
Retimes based on a speed percentage.
Source Frame
Retimes based on a specified source frame.
Speed %
50% is twice as slow, a value of 100 does nothing, and a value of 200 is twice as fast. Negative values move in reverse.
Source Frame
Set the speed based on the source frames. Set Source Frame keyframes at various points in time.
Note: Ease in/out is available for both Speed % and Source Frame keyframes in the Timeline.
Duration
Shows the retimed duration in frames.
Set Session Duration
Sets the session duration to the speed adjusted duration.
Note: Duration and Set Session Duration are not available when using Source Frame or when keyframing Speed %.
